Published on February 7, 2026 | Transportation
Looking to reach Vinh Long from Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon for short) by bus? You've come to the right place! In this article, I'll break down all the essential steps you can follow for seamless and no-frills travel by bus.
How Many Buses Are There?
Simply put, we have at least two:
- Futa Busline (Phương Trang Bus) - Recommended
- Thai Bao Limousine
Thai Bao Limousine
Thai Bao is a family business. Their office is in District 5, about 30 minutes by Grab car from downtown District 1.
The driver drops off passengers at the Vinh Long office, then provides free shuttle service to accommodations along the main route.
How to book:
- Step 1: Visit Vexere.com
- Step 2: Choose Ho Chi Minh as departure, Vinh Long as drop-off
- Step 3: Filter by "Thai Bao Limousine" operator
- Step 4: Select "VP Saigon" pickup and "Vinh Long Office" drop-off
- Step 5: Complete payment and arrive 30 minutes early
Futa Bus (Recommended)
This is my go-to ride! Futa is a big company with bright orange 45-seater double-decker buses. They offer reclining seats for the 3-hour journey, plus free shuttle service for both pick-up and drop-off.
Frequency: All day, every one hour
Fare: 140,000 VND per person (as of 2026)
Step-by-Step: Futa Bus Instructions
Step 1: Buy Your Ticket
Visit the nearest Futa Busline Ticket Office. Three best locations:
- Futa District 1: View on Google Maps
- Futa District 5: View on Google Maps
- Western Bus Station (Ticket Booth #32): View on Google Maps
Tell the salesperson: "BẾN XE VĨNH LONG" and pay in cash.
Step 2: Navigate to West Coach Station
If you buy tickets from District 1 or 5, Futa assigns a FREE shuttle van to fetch you to the West Coach Station in Binh Tan District.
Wait Lounge: View on Google Maps
Enter the wait lounge and monitor the TV screen for your bus departure time. Ask receptionists if you need help finding your bus.
Step 3: Board the Bus
Navigate to the right bus (check bus code and license plate on your ticket).
Important: Remove shoes before boarding!
The ride takes about 3 hours. After 2.5 hours, there's a 25-minute rest stop at Phuc Loc for bathroom breaks. Remember your bus code and return in time!
Step 4: Arrive in Vinh Long
You'll arrive at Vĩnh Long Bus Station. It's large and many people get off there.
Look for shuttle drivers in green uniforms right where the bus stops. Show them your destination address (Mekong Pottery Homestay on Google Maps) and they'll take you there for free!
💡 Pro Tips
- Buses depart every hour throughout the day
