Traffic cameras often delay fines, sometimes by months, complicating matters for tourists and rental companies. This goes the same way for our host family. There's a high chance that the fines are issued to our address 6 months after the plates are caught by the street cameras – by then our guests are already back home. Really, no one wants this situation to happen but it's good to give you a heads-up.

While our hosts at Mekong Pottery Homestay doesn't charge for processing fines, we appreciate understanding of the complexities involved.

To avoid issues, drive confidently and sensibly. Experienced riders are less likely to be stopped, while inexperienced, erratic drivers are easy targets for police. Vietnam is a motorbike nation—ride wisely to stay out of trouble.
